SFGH Doula Meeting
Wednesday, February 13, 2013, 7 - 9 pm

Topic: Working with teen moms in pregnancy and birth

Speakers: Nova Wilson and Daphina Melbourne from TAPP

The Teenage Pregnancy and Parenting Program (TAPP) Volunteer Doula program provides no-cost doula support to pregnant teens up to age 19 who are TAPP clients and giving birth in San Francisco. Volunteer doulas commit to providing one-to-one doula support for young mothers. The aim of this program is to ensure that every mother who is interested, receives doula support and that assigned doulas assist mothers in understanding and participating in decisions regarding the birth of her babies. Daphina Melbourne, TAPP Health Liaison and Outreach Coordinator, and Nova Wilson, San Francisco Doula Collective founder and TAPP Childbirth Education Instructor will join us to discuss the joys, strategies, and specific challenges in supporting these wonderful young women.

Please put this date on your calender - you won't regret it!!
