Affiliated Programs

Several programs around the Bay Area have other opportunities to get involved as a volunteer doula.

Teenage Pregnancy and Parenting Program (TAPP)

The TAPP Volunteer Doula Program provides doula services to teenagers throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The Program's monthly JUST DOula IT! meetings provide an opportunity for doulas to share birth stories, knowledge, and wisdom. To get involved you can contact our Volunteer Doula Coordinator at sftappdoula@gmail.com.

The Wellness Center at Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) seeks to improve the lives of women and their families by offering preventative health care options such as yoga, massage, acupuncture, nutritional counseling and doula services. Volunteers help staff the programs which enable them to offer these services to women free of charge. To get involved, please visit them at http://www.homelessprenatal.org/getinvolved/wellness

The Birth Justice Project seeks to end reproductive injustice within incarcerated and underserved populations. They believe all people deserve loving care and respect during the transformative experiences of pregnancy, birth and parenthood. The Birth Justice Project uses the doula model of care and peer-to-peer health education to arm women with information and community resources. To get involved you can contact them at info@birthjusticeproject.org.

The Bay Area Doula Project is committed to increasing access to nonjudgmental, compassionate and empowering doula care to individuals across the full spectrum of their reproductive experiences, with a specific focus on abortion. In doing so, they foster a culture that trusts and supports individuals through the full range of reproductive experiences. To get involved you can contact them at info@bayareadoulaproject.org
